Although Lajuana and I are friends, I love and treat her as a sister. Ever since I met her, she’s dreamed of being a mother. She devotes so much of her time, energy, and love to others, especially her family, friends, and godchildren. Since she would never start a fundraiser on her own, I took it upon myself to start one for her and her husband Tony. Back in 2003, she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy. While she overcame this ordeal, it would go on to have a lasting impact on her body. Fast forward to 2019 when she meets the love of her life. As newlyweds do, they decided to begin on a family of their own. However, complications would arise and turn their lives upside down. In 2019, she had a surgery to remove a total of 10 fibroids. She and the doctors believed they would get pregnant soon after, but to their dismay, they did not. She and Tony still tried naturally from then, until April 2022. In May 2022, the doctors informed them that more fibroids had grown and would need to be removed before they could begin their IVF journey. The surgery was immediately scheduled and on May 23rd, she went on to have a total of 11 fibroids removed. She recovered well and in September, she and Tony went in for her post-op visit and were told they could begin IVF! We are all excited for this adventure to meet Baby Grant.
